Filled with nutty characters, chocolate miscreants and caramel clad heroines, Almond & The Hazelnut is the food-filled wonderland of Yasmin Newman.

Born into an ethnically spiced-up family from around the world, a love for food hit early. At age 5, Yasmin feverishly guarded chocolates, consuming them at all hours of the night from her secret stash; at 9, she discovered her mum had the same trick; and by 11, Yasmin had mastered how to spend all of her hard earned cash on food. It was a skill that would remain with her for the rest of her life.

Besotted by all things edible, Yasmin forged a career in the dark arts: food & travel writer by day, baker by night, equal parts food custodian and fearless explorer.

Jump on board for a deliciously wild ride through new countries, exotic ingredients and baking lore as Yasmin navigates the worlds of tortes, tarts, terrines and beyond.
