Air-fryer doughnuts cook in just five minutes with quick recipe

Making doughnuts from scratch is something few people attempt at home, with many recipes calling for deep fryers to do the job.

However, anyone with an air fryer can whip them up easily with this simple recipe.

Candice Bannister, baking expert and owner of Candy’s Cupcakes has shared her four-ingredient formula for the perfect sweet treats.

Made with a plain doughnut base and Lotus Biscoff spread topping, the dessert bites couldn’t be more straightforward.

Her top tip is to swap complicated dough recipes for a pre-made version instead, which saves both time and money.

How to make Biscoff doughnuts in an air fryer

Start by preheating the air fryer to 190C before preparing the dough.

To do this, separate it into small, even chunks to form the portions for each doughnut.

Then, flatten the dough and use a small lid or round object to cut holes in the middle of each one.

Place the mini doughnuts in the air fryer in a single layer, leaving plenty of space to avoid overlaps between each one.

Air fry for four minutes until golden brown, flipping halfway through for even cooking. Five minutes may be better to get them perfect.

Melt the Biscoff spread in the microwave until soft then gently dip the cooked doughnuts in the gooey spread and top with a dusting of sieved icing sugar.
