Food recall: Co-op issue urgent and serious health warning over sliced pepperoni

Co-op is recalling a sliced pepperoni product due to E. Coli fears. The supermarket is recalling Co-op Sliced Pepperoni because E. coli O157 has been found in the product.

The product being called is the Co-op Sliced Pepperoni.

The pack size is 70g and it has a use by date of 19 May 2020.

A statement by the company states: “The presence of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli in the product listed above.

“Symptoms caused by this organism include diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloody diarrhoea, and haemolytic uremic syndrome, a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure and can be fatal.”

The company has placed point of sale notices in all stores.

They read: “Customers are advised not to consume the affected product.

“Return product to nearest Coop store for a refund.”

Other supermarket items are also being recalled across the UK currently.

The supermarket is also recalling Frozen Hash Browns because they may contain pieces of white plastic.

The possible presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat.

Lidl

Lidl is recalling the Alesto Raw Fruit & Nut Bar Cacao & Orange due to undeclared sulphur dioxide.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites

Best before: October 2020

Naturis Cold Pressed Juice Assorted ‘Rooting For You’

This product again contains sulphites which are not mentioned on the label making it a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide.
