A food recall can be issued when a food product poses a possible health risk. Warnings have been shared about items sold in Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Lidl.
Tesco 16 Spicy Chorizo Slices – 80 grams
A warning has been given for some Tesco chorizo packs as they could contain Listeria monocytogenes.
This can cause symptoms similar to the flu and the retailer has offered advice for anyone who may have bought the products.
“Don’t consume the affected product. Instead, please return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required,” a Tesco statement said.
“Use our store locator to find your nearest Tesco. If you’re currently self-isolating, please contact Tesco Customer Services on 0800 505 555 to arrange a refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
The affected batches have the best before date of December 19, 2020.
Asda Plant Based Loaded Potato Skins – 262 grams
Asda is recalling the product as some batches contain milk which is not mentioned on the label.
The packs that pose a risk have the best before date of November 12, 2020 but as they are suitable for freezing so some shoppers may still have them at home.
The Food Standards Agency website said: “Asda is recalling a single date code of Plant Based Loaded Potato Skins because the product contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.
“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. The product has passed its ‘use by’ date, however it is suitable for home freezing.”
Anyone who has bought the food item and has an allergy can return the item to store for a full refund.
Morrisons and Waitrose
Guinness Draught 0.0 percent – 440ml 6×4 packs
The non-alcoholic tipple has been recalled by Diageo Great Britain because of the possible presence of mould.
The item is sold in Morrisons and Waitrose stores and shoppers should check for packs with the best before dates of August 9, 2021, August 17, 2021 and August 24, 2021.
The FSA stated: “This product may contain mould. Mould does not usually cause food poisoning, however, the FSA would advise against consuming visibly mouldy foods because the presence of mould might make the food unsafe.
“If you have bought the above product do not consume it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought, for a full refund. Alternatively, contact the Diageo consumer careline on 0345 601 4558 or [email protected]”
What’s Cooking? Lighter for You Meatballs – 550 grams
Customers are urged to check for the product as it contains milk not listed on the label.
This is the result of a packaging error which means some packs actually contain chicken and mushroom pasta.
Shoppers should check for the best before date of January 5, 2022 and can be returned to stores for a refund.
