Some people suggest the best way to cook a jacket potato is to change the temperature halfway through.

You can bake the potato at 220C for 20 minutes, and then turn the oven down to 190C and bake for an extra 45 minutes to an hour.

This method will give you a super-crispy potato skin with a slow-cooked inside.

If you’re in a rush, microwave the potato for five minutes and then cook for 35 to 40 minutes in the oven.
