Lidl often changes and updates its stock, introducing new products to stores. This month, customers have noticed that the retailer’s famous chicken nugget product is back on shelves.

Lidl launched its McDonald’s look-alike chicken nuggets in January this year.

At the time, customers called the product “game-changing”.

This was because many thought the chicken nuggets tasted exactly like the McDonald’s versions.

McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets are one of the nation’s favourite fast-food meals.

Costing £1.69 or a box of 12, with Lidl’s chicken nuggets customers can recreate the iconic McDonald’s dish at home.

The discount retailer’s chicken nuggets are frozen and come with two delicious sauces.

The curry dip and the sweet and sour dip look exactly like the McDonald’s equivalents.

Lidl has described the chicken nuggets on their packaging, saying: “Made from chopped and formed chicken meat, with eight percent liquid seasoning, pre-cooked, breaded, pre-fried, deep frozen.”

Customers were informed of Lidl’s chicken nuggets when the popular food page, New Foods UK, posted an image of the product on its Instagram earlier this month.

The post garnered mixed reviews, with some people saying they couldn’t wait to get their hands on the nuggets, while others seemed to be unimpressed with the product’s description.

One person wrote: “Let’s have a Lidl date!”

Another person commented: “They’re amazing.”

One person said: “Picked some up today.”

Another person added: “They taste pretty much the same as the proper ones.”

One nuggets fan wrote: “Can’t wait until our new Lidl opens!”

Meanwhile, one person commented: “The description on the box…I’m out!”

Another person agreed: “Liquid seasoning. Erm. No thanks.”

Some people noted that the product looked very similar to Aldi’s chicken nuggets.

Lidl’s rival launched a McDonald’s look-alike range earlier this year, in May.

Aldi’s box of 12 chicken nuggets also costs £1.69 and is accompanied by two dips.

Unlike Lidl’s, the dips are tangy sweet chilli and BBQ.

Both supermarkets’ chicken nugget boxes are cheaper than the McDonald’s version, which costs £3.29 for a box of nine.
