Morrisons makes huge update to food boxes with new contents – here’s what you get

Morrisons has made a big update to some of its popular food boxes by adding new contents. This is what has changed.

  • Tesco, Asda, Marks & Spencer and Sainsbury’s latest delivery rules

The supermarket chain released its first food box in April shortly after the coronavirus lockdown began in the UK.

It originally launched essential boxes that could be bought online for £35.

The original boxes were available as a standard or a vegetarian version.

Since then, essential food packages have been launched to suit other dietary requirements including a vegan box and gluten free box.

Morrisons has also launched boxes fit for different occasions including the BBQ Food Box, the Market Kitchen Takeaway Favourites Box and the Picnic Food Box.

What has changed?

Posting on Twitter, the retailer explained one of its first boxes has been updated.

The post said: “Our British Food Box now features new season lamb and is full of delicious British produce for you to enjoy.

“One pound from the sale of each box will be donated to British Farming Charities via the Prince’s Countryside Fund too.”

The British Food Box has been updated to include more seasonal produce.

The food parcel was first launched to offer customers the chance to support British farmers.

It is available to buy for £45 and contains fresh produce including milk, potatoes, steak and chicken.

  • Asda slashes price of essential food box with 31 items for just £25

Essentials such as butter, carrots, tomatoes and cheddar cheese are also included in a standard pack.

Morrisons recently updated the Vegetarian Essential Box following customer feedback.

The contents were changed to include more items which are high protein and fresh options.

“Thanks to your feedback, we’ve made some changes to our Vegetarian Essentials Food box,” a message on Morrisons Twitter explained.

“We’ve included more proteins as well as more fresh produce too.”

High protein meat alternatives such as tofu, meat-free mince and sausages were included.

More vegetables were added including potatoes, spinach, peppers and carrots.
