The best drinks to round off summer – including refreshing gin spritz recipe
The sunshine might not be around every day, but summer is not over, and better way to enjoy the long afternoons than by trying one of the many new alcoholic drinks on the market.
White wine

This gorgeous, perfectly balanced rosé is from the award-winning Spanish winery Barón de Ley.
It is an an elegant, dry pale rosado and has a delicate aroma of white flowers and strawberry. The palate is fresh and dry with a wonderful mouth-filling burst of delicate red fruit.
Drink lightly chilled as a wonderful aperitif or as a great partner for fish and chicken dishes, Thai cuisine and vegetarian kebabs.
Barton & Guestier Tourmaline 2020 Côtes de Provence – Waitrose, £26.99
This is a typically elegant Provence rosé made from Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah.

Ingredients:
- 50ml Whitley Neill Distiller’s Cut Gin
- 50 ml Prosecco
- 25ml Soda water
- 15ml Elderflower cordial
- Garnish: Mint and cucumber
Method: Add the gin and elderflower cordial to a glass filled with cubed ice. Top with Prosecco, soda water, cucumber and mint.

Manchester-based brand No. 186 have created a delicious gin sprizt cocktail.
Ingredients:
- 25ml No. 186 Signature Gin
- 25ml Chambord
- 50ml Prosecco
- 30ml Soda Water
- Ice (Cubed)
Method: Fill a wine glass with ice. Add Gin, Chambord, Soda and then Prosecco over the ice and stir. Garnish with cucumber ribbon, raspberries and some edible flowers.
