Whataburger Is Selling a Dr. Pepper Milkshake and It's Peak Texas

Whataburger is showing its Texan pride with a delicious-sounding mashup of two of the Lone Star State’s quintessential beverages: Whataburger milkshakes and Dr. Pepper.

The Dr. Pepper Shake is made with pure Dr. Pepper syrup and “has that classic Dr Pepper flavor with a small-town diner feel,” according to the fast food chain’s website.

People are (obviously) very excited about the new menu item.

Unfortunately, the shake is only available for a limited time in parts of Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

I think I speak for the rest of the country when I say that is very uncool.

If you’re also disappointed, you can console yourself by enjoying the returning Root Beer Shake (but only if you live in West Texas, Arizona, or New Mexico) or Salted Caramel Shake (but only if you live in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, or Louisiana).

Seriously, Whataburger, what is with this milkshake exclusivity?!

At least the chain has the decency to throw the rest of us a bone with the return of the fan-favorite Buffalo Ranch Chicken Strip Sandwich—three crispy all-white meat chicken strips and two slices of Monterey Jack cheese, topped off with creamy buttermilk ranch and Buffalo sauce, and served on a toasted five-inch bun—which is available nationwide now.
