Luckily for followers of the keto diet, eggs and cheese are very much on the menu to brighten up the morning.

Many keto dieters enjoy getting creative with breakfast, as they eschew the typical toast or cereal.

However, baked eggs in avocado are also a popular choice. One half of an avocado with a baked egg contains around 260 calories, 20g of fat, 14g of protein and just 3g of carbs.

They look impressive and are low in carbs, so how exactly do you make these?

The recipe is simple. Take one avocado and cut it in half, scooping out some of the flesh.

Put the avocado on a baking tray or muffin tin face up.

Then crack the egg into the hole of the avocado and sprinkle over pepper, salt and cheese to taste.

Then bake the avocado for around 12 to 15 minutes in an oven preheated to 170 degrees celsius. The egg should no longer wobble when it is cooked through.

These are medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which are rapidly absorbed.
