As Catherine prepares for the intense training schedule of Strictly Come Dancing, she admitted her weight stopped her from dancing before.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: “I’ve always wanted to learn to dance. It was something that I shied away from when I was younger.
“I was terrified of it. I was much bigger, so I didn’t have the confidence.”
However, Catherine has slimmed down in recent years by making sure to live a healthy lifestyle.
The soap star said: “I think it’s about creating a lifestyle. If you want to sustain a healthy weight and feel good about yourself then you need to fuel your body with the right food.”
Catherine explained she focused on both diet and exercise to help her stay in shape.
In a typical day, the soap star revealed she would eat a three egg omelette for breakfast, a chicken and avocado salad for lunch and home made steak burgers with aubergine fries for dinner.
If she is still feeling peckish, Catherine will munch on blueberries, apples and coconut yogurt.
The Strictly star also explained she likes to keep active and will fuel her workouts with prawns or tuna with broccoli and Brazil nuts.
Since dropping the weight, the soap star has focused on keeping fit by working out in the gym.
Sharing a plan created by Ultimate Performance, Catherine’s exercise routine consisted of exercises using barbells.
She said she would do dumbbell lunges, shoulder presses and side raises to stay in shape.
Strictly Come Dancing judge, Shirley Ballas, revealed she follows an intermittent fasting diet plan to make sure she stays in shape.
Intermittent fasting requires slimmers to limit what they eat to certain times of the day.
However, slimmers must make sure they don’t leave the time window too late as eating late at night can stump their progress.
