Kate Middleton has long been the people’s princess, with many including the monarchy singing the praises of the Duchess of Cambridge and Cornwall. And despite having given birth to three children who she shares with Prince William, she has managed to keep her incredible figure.

But how does she do it?

Kate always looked a picture of health and beauty when she steps out for her various royal engagements.

It turns out she eats a varied diet plan that includes a high-calorie dessert.

With Google searches on the rise as people hope to follow the same eating plan, nutrition experts at BarBend analysed the Duchess’ diet and found out what she eats in a day to stay so slim.

And they’ll be stunned to learn an age-old English favourite is on the list.

Kate is said not to be impartial to indulging in a sticky toffee pudding.

According to the previous chef for the royal family Darren McGrady, it was her favourite.

It is a delicious addition to finish off any meal but one that should be eaten sparingly, say experts.

One serving contains 59.4g carbs, 14g fat, 3.4g protein and 375 calories.

But they stressed it’s important to eat a balanced diet, and for people not to restrict themselves all the time.

Enjoying food is just as important as watching what a person eats.

Health experts at the Mayo Clinic revealed it is possible to continue to eat the foods people love and lose weight it just comes down to balance, highlighting the key term “everything in moderation”.

The rest of the time, Kate sticks to a healthy eating plan, that includes a variety of whole foods that help keep her trim.

BarBend’s experts revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge is a big fan of slow-burn energy oats for breakfast, which keep her filled up and with enough fuel to attend royal events, exercise and run after her three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

“To maintain her enviable figure, Kate matches nutritious, healthy eating with a consistent workout regime of planking and running, and oats can be great exercise fuel, as they release energy throughout the whole workout,” they explained.

She also is known to blend her own antioxidant-filled smoothies.

These often contain a mix of kale, spirulina, matcha, spinach, romaine, and blueberries, creating a delicious mix that promotes her enviable natural glow and healthy skin.

After breakfast, Kate is said to favour organic foods for lunch and incorporates as many raw ingredients as possible.

They said: “Watermelon salads are a staple of Kate’s lunches, and include juicy pink watermelon mixed with avocado, onion, cucumber, and feta cheese.

“It’s the perfect mix of sweet and savoury.”

And when it comes to dinner, she is believed to indulge in more traditional English favourites after eating lighter, plant-based foods earlier in the day.

These include Prince William’s favourite roast chicken, and she enjoys making pizza, pasta and baking cakes with their children.

The experts said: “Sushi is also a big favourite among Kate and Prince William, and she has made some bold and experimental choices when it comes to fish, tucking into thinly sliced wild geoduck (a large saltwater clam) sashimi.

“While the royals, as a rule, do not consume seafood abroad in case of food poisoning which could set a royal tour back by days, clearly the geoduck was too delicious to resist!”
