The Tig, Meghan Markle’s former lifestyle website, used to feature lots of recipes and food reviews from the royal herself. On the former blog, the Duchess of Sussex described herself as: “Someone who not only loves but also appreciates the art and skill that goes into making good food.” The royal also provided a healthy trick for avoiding the “4pm slump” that many Britons and people across the world experience.
When Meghan needs a pick-me-up in the afternoons, she normally avoids coffee and chooses a green juice instead.
The former actress told TODAY: “It’s easy to fall into the trap of rushing for a coffee when you hit that 4pm slump.
“But if I blend some apple, kale, spinach, lemon, and ginger in my Vitamix in the morning and bring it to work, I always find that sipping on that is a much better boost than a cup of espresso.”
The royal is undoubtedly leading a healthy Californian lifestyle of wonderful fresh food and daily exercise, as many celebrities do in Santa Barbara.
She currently resides in Montecito with her husband, their son Prince Archie Harrison, and their daughter Princess Lilibet Diana.
Meghan doesn’t forgo the occasional indulgent treat, despite the fact that the mother of two has praised the advantages of maintaining a balanced diet in the past.
The former Suits actress has said: “I’m always hoping I’m having lunch with people, so we can share fries. It’s its own food group for me.”
The 41-year-old claims she often eats a bigger lunch followed by a lighter dinner because she is typically more hungry at that time.

Sashimi or salads are some of her other favourite lunch options. Meghan is highly health-conscious and normally tries to eat a gluten-free and vegan diet during the week.
This was after she noticed a difference in her skin and energy levels when she cut the food groups out. However, she doesn’t deprive herself of the occasional serving of chips.
The Duchess told Best Health in 2015: “I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends.
“But at the same time, it’s all about balance. Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived.
“I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things. It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating.”
One of Meghan’s favourite meals is Sunday dinner, and she enjoys preparing a large meal for her loved ones.
The Duchess has listed lamb tagine, pot roasts and soups as the perfect meals to have with your family on a Sunday.
Meghan has also expressed a love for “Filipino-style chicken adobo” which she explained how to make in an interview.
She told TODAY: “It’s so easy—combine garlic, soy (or Bragg Liquid Aminos), vinegar, maybe some lemon and let the chicken swim in that sauce until it falls off the bone in a Crock-Pot.”
The Duchess of Sussex loves drinking red wine, specifically Tignanello wine which she named her lifestyle blog The Tig after.
“Of course I’m going to have that glass of wine – it’s delicious and I enjoy it. Do the things you enjoy within reason.
“Know your body and what works for you and you’ll be fine,” Meghan told Best Health.
