There are lots of weight loss diet plans on the market offering quick results. For those hoping to lose belly fat, an expert explained there are some foods which can help them slim down.
Reducing the fat percentage around the midriff can help slimmers appear more toned.
As well as burning fat, dieters can help achieve a flat stomach by ensuring they are not bloated.
Head of nutrition at Probio7 Rebecca Traylen explained the foods that are not only healthy, but can reduce bloating.
She also revealed the best five food and drink items to help carve six pack abs.
Adding the foods into a daily meal plan could help those hoping to slim see results.
Banana
Rebecca said: “Bananas have been shown to reduce bloating as they are rich in potassium which helps regular water retention.
“It also contains fibre which is beneficial for your gut microbiome – try adding a banana to your smoothie.
“It’ll not just help your gut but taste delicious too.”
Quinoa
She continued: “Quinoa is naturally gluten free and a great source of protein and fibre.
“It’s the perfect replacement for beans which are well-known for causing bloating and have the added bonus of being packed with a range of vitamins and minerals.”
Cucumber and watermelon
Both foods have a high water content that can help make a stomach look more toned, Rebecca explained.
She said: “Cucumber and watermelon are both water rich foods.
“They are not only tasty on a salad but also the high water content will keep you hydrated and reduce bloating.”
Turmeric
Adding the spice when cooking can help dieters achieve results, according to the expert.
“Turmeric, when it comes to herbs and spices, is one of the best for your gut thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties which can help relax your stomach,” Rebecca continued.
“Why not try adding it to your curry or roasting cauliflower with turmeric.”
Herbal teas
Sipping on herbal teas will help ease bloating while keeping slimmers hydrated.
Rebecca continued: “Herbal teas such as ginger or mint calm your stomach and as a result help to ease bloating.
“As an extra top, try having a cup of herbal tea after each meal to prevent any immediate bloating.”
