Website Healthline has told of a key trick which is simple and, most importantly, completely free to do. This is to make sure slimmers drink water before mealtimes.

Although this sounds particularly simple, it insists it can spark weight loss.

The website states: “Drink water a half hour before meals.

“One study showed that drinking water a half hour before meals increased weight loss by 44 per cent over three months.”

It added: “It is 100 per cent calorie-free, helps you burn more calories and may even suppress your appetite if consumed before meals.”

Water is also necessary to burn fat in the body, and to boost metabolism.

It removes waste from the body and it makes sense that by drinking water instead of anything else, it can reduce overall calorie intake.

While water has been given the green light, this does not apply to all fluids.

The website added: “Avoid sugary drinks and fruit juice.

“These are the most fattening things you can put into your body, and avoiding them can help you lose weight.

Meanwhile, a cheap and easy breakfast option to lose weight has also come to light.

New research has insisted oatmeal can help slimmers “lose weight in two ways”, potentially making it an ideal start to the day.

Website eatingwell.com flagged the grub, which is similar to porridge, as a perfect food choice.

It stated two reasons why this is so, and put: “First, it’s packed with fibre and it keeps you feeling fuller longer.

“Second, a recent study in the reported that eating a breakfast made with “slow-release” carbohydrates—such as oatmeal or bran cereal three hours before you exercise may help you burn more fat.”

The data explained this is because slow release carbohydrates do not spike blood sugar like some refined carbohydrates.
