When growing up, retail worker, Korina Loukanari, from Gloucester, would often go all day without eating before gorging on bland foods in the evening.

Tipping the scales at 14st 7lb, she would fill up on beige foods, often eating a whole box of cereal for dinner.

Korina said: “I’d always struggled with my weight as a child. I ate a really boring, beige diet without many vegetables, so my weight often fluctuated as a result.

“Cruel kids at school would often poke fun at me because I was on the heavier side.

“They’d laugh and make fun of my appearance and weight which left me not wanting to eat around them, so as not to give them ammunition.”

However, enough was enough for the dieter when she was called “fat” by a stranger on a bus.

“It all came to a head a few years ago when I was sat on a bus with my friend and a boy essentially told me I wasn’t attractive due to my size,” she added.

The slimmer started looking into nutrition and decided to increase how much protein and vegetables she ate.

Korina explained: “I ordered a batch of musclefood’s chicken breasts and started meal prepping with my boyfriend Matt around five years ago.

“Since then, I’ve developed a much healthier relationship with food which has helped to keep the weight off.

“My meals have changed from beige, carb loaded plates to colourful food involving lots of fish and vegetables.”

By cutting back unhealthy foods and ditching sugar, Korina lost an incredible one stone in the first two weeks.

Not only did she change her diet plan, the slimmer enlisted the help of a sporty friend to help her create a gym plan.

Korina upped how much she would exercise and started going to the gym around five days a week.

She added: “I’ve had a complete U-turn in the way I view my body. I used to comfort eat and not think about looking after it.

“I now treat my body like you would a puppy or a young baby – with love.

“I wouldn’t starve a baby, and I wouldn’t dehydrate it, so why would I do that to myself?”

By following the plan, she managed to slim down to healthy nine stone and fits into a size eight clothing.

“I’m so much happier and more confident within myself,” Korina added.

“I dress for me and my style, and not the body I have. I will always be a foodie but I know now to eat everything in moderation.

“Losing weight isn’t about restricting yourself and it isn’t meant to be boring!”
