Banku and Tilapia

A homemade banku and tilapia with pepper sauce recipe. This is a Ghanaian traditional dish, and favourite amongst many! Here’s the recipe, and perfect with fufu. Enjoy!


  1. Cassava dough
  2. Corn dough
  3. Fresh whole Tilapia (2 or more, depending on how many serving)
  4. Hot pepper, Ghanaians use Kpakpo Shito (scotch bonnets)
  5. Minced garlic and ginger
  6. 1 large onion, sliced
  7. Fresh tomato, chopped
  8. seasoning cubes/power/liquid (Maggi or Knorr)
  9. to taste Salt and pepper
