Basic Tomato Sauce


  1. 1/4 cup EVOO
  2. 2 Onions, Minced
  3. 4 cloves Garlic, Minced
  4. 1 tbsp Dried Thyme
  5. 2-28 oz cans Whole Peeled Tomatoes, Crushed By Hand
  6. To Taste Salt


  1. Heat EVOO in pot over medium heat.

  2. Add onion to pot and cook until soft and just starting to brown.

  3. Add garlic to the pot and heat for 1-2 minutes more.

  4. Add thyme to pot and cook another 5 minutes.

  5. Add tomatoes, including the juice, to the pot and bring to a boil stirring often.

  6. Reduce heat and simmer sauce for 30 minutes.

  7. Season with salt to your liking and sauce is ready.
