My gluten free version of Arby's Steakhouse Onion Rings
I used to eat them when I was a little boy but I can’t eat them anymore because it has gluten in it. So I’ve decided to make them gluten free
Ingredients
- 2 large red onions
- 2 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup gluten free flour
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- vegetable oil for frying
Steps
Fill your deep fryer with vegetable oil heating to 400 degrees.
Peel the outer layer off of the red onions then cut them up into 1 inch rings and set aside.
In a bowl mix milk and egg.
In another bowl mix gluten free flour, cornstarch, and salt.
Soak the onion rings in the bowl with the milk and egg mixture for about 30 minutes.
Repeat the following process (at least twice each)… toss each ring in the gluten free flour mixture then back to the milk and egg mixture.
Fry in the hot oil until golden brown approx.
6 minutes flipping after 3 minutes so that both sides get evenly browned.
Transfer to a large plate that has been covered with paper towels and season all of them with a little bit of salt.
