Pork Carnitas

This is the best pork Carnitas I have ever made! It’s crunchy and delicious! ?


  1. 500 gr pork
  2. 1 tsp black pepper
  3. 1 tsp salt
  4. 1 tsp oregano
  5. 1 tsp cumin
  6. 1/2 tsp paprika powder
  7. 1 onion
  8. 3 cloves garlic
  9. Lime juice from 1/2 lemon
  10. Orange juice from 1 orange
  11. 2 bay leaves
  12. 150 ml Cola (use cola that contain sugar instead of artificial sweeteners)
  13. Water
  14. 2 Medium tortilla (cut it into 4 small tortilla)


  1. Clean the pork, and place it in the cooking pot

  2. Mix black pepper, salt, oregano, cumin, and paprika powder in a small bowl, and use the mixture to season the pork

  3. Add garlic and onion

  4. Squeeze in 1/2 lemon

  5. Add orange juice, cola, some water, and bay leaves

  6. Mix it well

  7. Stew it for 2 hours until the pork is tender

  8. If the pork have reached its tenderness, place it on a board, shred it using 2 forks

  9. Place the pulled pork in a baking sheet, add the remaining sauce from the stew, and mix it well

  10. Bake it in the oven for 30 minutes (170 degree Celsius). Flipp it after the First 15 minutes, so both side of pulled pork become crispy

  11. Place the tortilla in a plate, add the crispy pulled pork, some garnish on it, and Fold it

  12. Pork carnitas is ready to be served

  13. For garnish: chopped cherry tomatoes, chopped onion, chopped coriander leaves
